GradeTrack

Challenge

Develop and gauge the usability of an app designed to reduce anxiety in college students.

Solution

Working in a way similar to how you can track your pizza delivery, the app allows students to see where the professor is in the grading process and when they expect to have it completed.

This reduces anticipation and stress surrounding the current waiting process for grades.

Background

GradeTrack was developed under the guidance of Openfield Senior UX Designer Lauren DeMarks in a workshop to explore the UX process.

We utilized Miro and Crazy 8’s to ideate, conducted user interviews after initial wireframing, and then reported our findings in a brief.

Research

I moderated two 30-60min sessions using an XD shared link, involving 2 participants between the ages of 20-21 who identified as students struggling
with anxiety.

Both Student A and Student B expressed concerns about the assignment scrolling feature which was then taken into consideration for the next iteration.
